Wu Tang Martial Arts
This traditional Chinese based Art
was created by Grandmasters’ with a careful
consideration of its effectiveness in real combat, real
battles, and real life. The art is taught in a
traditional manner, respect, harmony and internal power
are emphasized and required for students. Students will
learn armed and unarmed techniques and counter attacks
to both. The art focuses on the five elemental powers
from ancient China (earth, water, wood, fire, and metal)
and their application on the real world. The
origins of this art hale back to a region of the world
and a time when life and death was determined by how
skilled you were in martial arts. Thus the Masters
incorporated anything and everything that worked
including: the Tibetan Lama Arts of Pa Chin (8 Dragon
Animals), the Mongol Arts of Wu H'sing (5 Cosmic
Elements), with their own Art of Wu Tang Pa Chi Jen
Ch'uan (8 Immortals). This Art became more unified over
the centuries and covers all areas and realms of
fighting with many specializations. The art covers
aerial fighting, standing fighting, ground fighting and
much more. The specializations include strikes and
kicks on each realm. For example, our Scorpion
Tail ground fighting does not entail wrestling or normal
grappling but actually uses the ground and specifically
developed postures for ground combat to defeat not just
one but many attackers. Our art trains to fight
multiple attackers at one time. Simple grappling would
tie you up with one person allowing a second or more
attackers to easily finish you off which is why we don’t
focus on those techniques.
We also offer Hand Toughening,
Warrior Meditations, Joint Locks & Controls, Throws,
Nerve Attacks, Dim Mak and Defenses, Development of the
Senses and Greater Awareness, and the Hidden Fist and
Invisible Fist arts of defeating opponents without
touching them.
This system includes 8 animal finger
weapons (finger strikes), 8 fist weapons (punches),
numerous kicks, dozens of joint locks and throws with
endless combinations, 8 ground fighting postures and
moving 8 fighting stances which include three running
arts. The primary art includes meditations that
bring the mind into the body and the spirit into the
movements. A form of the Tien Tao healing arts is
also taught. It is believed that if you know how
to harm the body so you must also know how to heal it.
First level black belts in this art
are required to perform many tests, one test is to break
boards with the tips of their fingers which is a
demonstration not of strength but of internal focus and
mental development of the student.
There are only four Wu Tang Chuan
schools in the United States. Wu Tang Martial Arts
is traditionally a Simi-public school only allowing
select students. Ryan Smith First Level Master (Shr
Lung Smith) is now accepting students into this school
beginning after October 5th. The
traditional training in this art is not suited for
children and no student under the age of 14 will be
allowed in the school and only a few students will be
allowed under the age of 18. Students of all other ages
are welcome.
If you want to find an art where you
can focus your energy on a single point in time and
return a balanced martial artist in harmony with all
around you, then please sign up at the front Desk of the
PAMA and Shr Lung Smith will contact you for an
interview.
